During this guided photowalk, I will introduce you to some of Rotterdam’s most remarkable architectural landmarks. Along the way, you will learn about the history and design of the buildings while developing practical techniques for photographing them effectively.
I graduated from the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague and have worked as a professional photographer and photography teacher for many years. My approach is practical and personal, with attention not only to camera technique but also to composition, light and developing your own way of seeing.
The tour combines hands-on photography tuition with an engaging introduction to Rotterdam’s architecture.

From theory to practice
This photography tour combines clear explanations with practical experience. You will learn about important aspects of architectural photography, including choosing suitable lenses, reducing perspective distortion and working creatively with light and shadow.
Most importantly, you will have the opportunity to put these techniques into practice immediately, with personal guidance while you are actually photographing.
Where and when?
The photography tour starts in front of Rotterdam Central Station and takes you past some of the city’s most distinctive and iconic buildings.
The tour lasts approximately 3.5 hours and is suitable for both beginners and more experienced photographers. Tours are available throughout the week by appointment, with a morning starting time of 09:30 and an afternoon starting time of 14:00. We will take a short coffee break halfway through the tour.
